Personal Rich Dad Poor Dad Summary: The "Choose to be Rich" audio course and workbook was my second audio product from the Rich dad series. There is enough information in this course to get you started across the board, no matter what level you are at. I have listened to it numerous times, which including a drive across country from California to South Florida - without playing the same CD over! The included video shows Robert in action teaching at a seminar - it was nice seeing and hearing his cool personality. One of the best lessons I took away from just one chapter was this:

Personal Summary: "Rich Dad Poor Dad" is the first book I had read from Robert Kiyosaki, which explains the story of his two dads (richdad and poordad), and how it offered him contrasting points of view about money and becoming rich. It also helped me realize why so many people will never be rich, no matter how smart they are or what their college degree, and why anyone can become rich regardless of their current situation if they financially educate themselves. |

Personal Summary: I bought this book to read because I have a little boy and I want the best for him. What I didn't realize is that it would help "me" so much! I would read it to my son before he would go to sleep (because I wanted to read the book and he wanted a bedtime story). He would realize the things that "I" was doing wrong in my own business from what I was reading in this book! My son's favorite saying and something he puts to use is, "Don't say that you "can't" afford it... say, how "can" I afford it." This forces you to find a solution and not limit yourself. More Personal Notes: one of the best ideas out of this book and others from Rich Dad is this: Put money aside each day into a piggy bank - you put 1/3 of it to "Savings" then 1/3 to "Investing" and finally 1/3 to "Charity." Make sure you verbally say those words as you drop each coin (or dollar bill!) into the piggy bank. If you can do it, you don't miss the money, which would normally just be "gone" anyway. PS: The most exciting one is the one for "Investing" ...this one could help you grow little business ventures and watch how much money you can "create!" Update: My son now manages this process and has a routine of coming home from school and sorting the spare change we have saved into his automatic change machine that puts the coins into rolls. He then keeps a running tally of the total dollar amount. I know that his love for managing money will continue as he grows older. |
